International WebGUI Conference Spotlights Knowmad Technologies' Web Expertise
CHARLOTTE - Knowmad Technologies (www.knowmad.com) will be well represented at the 2009 WebGUI Users Conference with three team members presenting workshops. Company partners William McKee and Diona Kidd, along with Web Developer Tessa Harmon will be featured at the international conference, which will be held September 10-11 at the Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin.
The WebGUI Users Conference is an annual event that brings together developers, integration specialists and users from around the globe. WebGUI is a popular content management system in use as an application framework in many Global 1000 companies, governments, schools and universities.
On Thursday, September 10, Kidd will present "Streamlining WebGUI Rollouts," which will explore advanced techniques for configuration management, site creation and deployment. As Vice President of Knowmad, Kidd has extensive experience in managing high-traffic, high-availability Web sites.
Knowmad president, William McKee will conduct "WebGUI and the Semantic Web" for conference attendees the morning of Friday, September 11. This workshop will introduce the concepts of the Semantic Web as envisioned by Tim Berners-Lee over a decade ago and compare that vision with today's reality. McKee is a long-time supporter of the Open Source community and has been honored as one of the People Behind WebGUI in recognition of his contributions to this Open Source project.
The afternoon session will feature Web Developer Tessa Harmon, who is responsible for building and maintaining custom Web sites and Web site application software for Knowmad. Her presentation is titled "Advanced Theming Techniques WebGUI."
